Glen was on dialysis through the night and tolerated it well, he will continue with this therapy for kidney failure until 4:00 PM today and then be off for the night.  This has allowed for all but one medication for blood pressure support to be stopped (at one time he was on three different medications for this).  His chest x-ray has improved and the infectious disease specialist is fairly confident he did not have a blood infection though will continue antibiotic therapy for another day.  His biggest issue is his neurologic status.  The neurologist believes he has significant brain damage since his examination today was essentially unchanged from yesterday.  What this means is that he does not respond to deep, painful stimuli.  He does occasionally open his eyes, but this is not in response to any specific stimulation.  The neurologist is not optimistic about a recovery at this point.  She will do another examination tomorrow though, along with a test to measure the electrical activity in his brain (EEG) and is considering doing another C-T scan.

When Glen was admitted Tuesday evening, the physicians told us that they always give the brain around 92 hours to recover from an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.  We will be coming up on that time-frame tomorrow and will keep you posted on the findings.  Thanks for all your thoughts, prayers and comments – they mean the world to us!  We are all trying to stay positive and would appreciate it if all of you would as well.  Keep praying, thank you so much.

Glen has been a member of the Oil City Slickers barbershop chorus for years and years contributing in many ways including as director. He also sang in a quartet that some of you may have gotten to hear on a Valentines day. We all are stunned and greatly saddened by Glens illness and are pulling for Glen in all the ways we that know.

  2. Angela & Jim Berry & the Berry Boys...Bridger, Keegan & Jayce says:

The last time we spoke (which was during State Wrestling) you were doing what you do best, helping the kids! Since working closely with you during the Million Dollar Hole in One, I couldn’t wait for my boys to be a part of your life through NC Sports. When you told me you were retiring, I was so bummed. Then the doors opened at the district you came out of retirement and there is no one better to fill that position. Nothing can stop you from working and being apart of Wyoming Sports and helping the kids. You are the best! You are very loved and respected. I really hope God works a miracle and brings you back to us! Casper needs you! Your family is in my thoughts and prayers!!!

I got privilege of knowing Mr. Legler through my years of sports at NC. His office was place that I often hung out in with him and Karen, in between classes or when I was running late for first period and needed a pass. 🙂 He attended all of our games and was one of our biggest fans. His support was always much appreciated and my high school sports career would not have been the same without him. He always brought words of encouragement and was full of laughs! I am very sorry to hear about his tragic health complications and will be keeping him and his loved ones in my prayers. Sending my love to a wonderful man who has a lot of fight in him!! We are all rooting for you like you have always done for us!!

ALWAYS, and never for any reason other than that’s just how you roll. I love you with every ounce of me, and now, we are there for you. Anything at all that I can do to help, in anyway at all, I don’t care if it’s simply to ro-sham-bo Carot Top, it’s done. You Leglers are the absolute best of us all.
